- Wedding: October 2012
Our wedding is at an old brick antebellum home that is now a museum. It’s gorgeous. I’m not using any decorations other than my old milk glass mixed vases on tables for the reception. I do not want to cover up the natural beauty of the place. The colors outside are natural brick tones. The front of the home has beautiful rod iron all across the front porch we are going to stand right in front ofas we say our vows. There is a brick walk up to the steps (our “aisle”) and there are magnolia trees on either side that drape in over where our theses will be sitting. I love it! Here is our problem. I don’t want to rent white chairs. I think as ppl walk up they will just see those bright white chairs. The venue has gray metal folding chairs ppl use there. Ive seen them in pictures and I’ve seen white chairs there in pictures. The gray blends into the scene and the white screams “hey! Look at this chair!”
Here’s my question. Will ppl snub their noses at gray metal chairs? I don’t want to put tulle on them or chair covers, because to me that’s doing the same thing as having the white chairs. Has anyone else used the gray metal chairs and had it work out?
Another question is, if I use them and do decide to decorate them, can I just make some simple garland to sway across the back of each row for a little decor but not enough to take away from the natural beauty of the place?
