@KearlSC:  how much mexican details are you looking for… is it as subtle as having and aguas frescas bar, having a mexican candy buffet, having your cake be tres leches, or heavier like… having a mariachi during the cocktail hour or ceremony (if doing a catholic mass, mariachis usually have a set church approved songlist and it souds so beautiful), maybe have papel picado in your decor, or even wear a mantilla veil… there are so many ways to incoporate the mexican culture in your big day 🙂

sorry for the huge pics 🙁

We had a very natural theme going but wanted to incorporate my husband’s Turkish heritage, so we did a full Turkish meal for the reception – lamb kebabs, spiced rice, flatbread, veggies, chicken with roasted red pepper coulis, for passed apps we did ayran shooters (minted non-alcoholic yogurt drink), mucver (zucchini fritters with sauce) and stuffed mushrooms.  Everyone RAVED about the food – maybe you could do a big mexican meal instead of something traditionally american? (As a guest, I think a taco bar would probably be the coolest thing ever. Or an elote appetizer! MMmmm elote.)

We also did like a 65/35 mix of American music to Turkish music. We had my aunts and uncles up doing a traditional turkish dance with us – it was great! So while our reception “looked” American, it had ALL the flavor of Turkey.
