I love that idea!  That’ll be so fun. The Talavera will add a lot of color (love that stuff!)  Maybe you could get a tin star lantern like this: http://www.southwestandbeyond.com/product.asp?productid=16343

I saw those all the time when I was in Mexico. Maybe get a colorful rug and some cheerful vases to round things out?

Every good Mexican kitchen has a molcajete (mortar and pestle made of stone) and a tortilla press. Even if you never use them (like my dad), just display them. They add some authenticity to the decor.

Ooohh—I got a tortilla press just like that for Christmas and I LOVE it!  It’s so much fun to use.  I agree the items McVerde recommended would add a lot to a Mexican themed kitchen.

I hope you’ll post pictures when you get it all set up!

I think the white dishware with a few colorful additions thrown in (the butter dish, a motar and pestel) will look REALLY nice. Be sure to share some pics when you get it all put together!

Where did you get the banners done? My sister is doing a Mexican destination wedding and stateside reception for those that couldn’t make it. Those banners would look great at the reception and in their home. Thank you.

As for suggestions, here are some talavera switch plates I think would be cute for  a kitchen.

I also have a Mexican-inspired kitchen, and one of my favorite details is the punched tin switch plates. I got mine in Santa Fe, but I’m sure you could order online, too.

Tiling like this would be really pretty and a little more subtle.

Also, adding tiie to the walls is a great accent that you could do…
