I’ve stayed at the Gran Bahia Principe and the Riviera Maya.  Both were near Playa Del Carmen and both were great!

We honeymooned at Royal Hideaway in Playacar. It was amazing and VERY safe. My husband was super worried about safety and he felt completely at ease. It’s adults only and smaller, and has a great infinity pool that is right on the beach.

I know the perfect place. It was difficult to convince my husband to honeymoon in Mexico. He thinks it’s not safe out there, but after much research and convinincing. I found the perfect spot, safe and luxurious.

Resort is Luxurious

Right on the beach

Adults Only

All Inclusive (7 restaurants). Food was delicious.

Alcohol served all day and on the beach.

No crazy springbreakers, or crazy young partiers either. It’s catered mostly to couples only, which I love.

Beach is very clean.

Shopping, 5th avenue is walking distance, 1 block away.

Our suite had jacuzzi, stocked bar, and fridge.

Nightly shows.

and 24 hour bar and snack bar for those who aren’t done celebrating the night..lol.

Overall they treated us like royalty, we are planning on going again end of this year. We paid estimate $2400 for 7 days and 6 nights for Sept honeymoon.

Another vote here for Live Aqua. My husband and I LOVED our stay here! It’s beautiful, clean, all inclusive, adults only, extremely relaxing, great staff, amazing restaurants, and it has aromatherapy thoughtout. I cant wait to go back one day!

@Dragonfly22ny:  I went July 2011 for about 5 nights. It was friggin amazing! It was my first time going on an actual vacation like that, and my husband and I both loved it. We still talk and dream about going back there all the time. Maybe for our 5 year anniversary!?

I even got sick during the middle of the week during my stay there, and had to stay all day in bed – and I joke to husband how it was the best sick day I ever had. I seriously was in heaven sleeping in the comfy bed…no complaints here!

We stayed at the Grand Palladium in Riviera Maya. It was BEAUTIFUL! White sandy beaches, clean resort, live entertainment. And including airfare from MI was only $2400 for 7 nights all inclusive! The food was amazing!
