Where are you flying from?

We’re going to playa del carmen next April, and looks like average temp for January is about 75 degrees, which isn’t hot, but certainly isn’t cold. Water temps are about 80 degrees.

one thing, if you go very early in January, prices will be high. Wait for everyone to go back to work and/or school and you’ll save a small fortune

Mexico is plenty warm enough in January. It is a popular month for vacations for a winter getaway.

I think it’s dependent on where you go.  I’ve been to Cozumel in January with great weather.  I went to Belize in January thinking it would be warm and it was overcast, rainy and cool most of the time we were there.

We were in Cabo on NYE! It was amazing during the day. It was kinda chilly at night and the water was colder when we went snorkeling but the pacific is usually colder so I wasn’t surprised. We really enjoyed it and would recommend going in January!
