Hey ladies! We decided to go to Vegas for our honeymoon ! We’ve never been & want to do a lot of fun stuff ! I want to stay somewhere nice but yet reasonable because I’d rather spend the extra $$$ on activities rather than all on the room ! So I am in between the MGM grand or the Aria ! I can’t decide I need you Bees help!!

I travel to Vegas frequently for work and have stayed at both places recently.
Aria is MUCH nicer than the MGM. MGM is kinda dated and is making a turn towards trashy. Aria is newer and the rooms are nicer and the crowd is generally more upscale.
Both are in good locations. It really comes down to what is important to you….

Exactly what she said. Aria is waay better than MGM–it’s newer, the casino is less old/smoky, the rooms are better, and the location is better (more center-Strip than MGM, which is sort of towards the end of the strip).
And I’m not a big buffet girl (usually prefer smaller quantities, better quality) but Aria’s buffet (and Bellagio buffet next door) are delish!

Aria. I stayed at the MGM Grand and was not impressed. It is too big!

Ooooh we stayed at the Aria on our mini honeymoon! It is absolutely fabulous! And the dessert shop on the casino level is amazing, best chocolate cake I’ve ever tasted.

Unless it is the new tower signature tower at MGM I would say Aria.

I’ve stayed at the Aria and it was really nice. I found the casino on the small side but that is about the only negative thing I have to say.

They have the best food and it’s a GORGEOUS hotel. In the midst of all of the action but still peaceful at the same time.

I stayed at the MGM 4 months ago and it was awesome! My room, though small, was updated and really nice. I really liked the MGM.

I’ve stayed at both. MGM’s West Wing was pretty cool, kind of retro styled and fun. The regular MGM rooms are way less cool, so I wouldn’t stay in those again. Plus the West Wing is much closer to the strip. I love all the STUFF at MGM, lots of restaurants that I can almost afford, as well as some cheaper options. And MGM’s pool is WAY better. Lazy river!
However, Aria is very sleek and new. Lots of cool electronics – you control the window blinds with a remote! There are some cool places to eat, but seem much spendier. The pool is a little eh. Not terribly exciting. And it is a long walk to the strip. It is nice that there is the free shuttle up the strip a few hotels, though.
Overall, I probably won’t stay at Aria again myself, just because everything seemed more expensive (Vodka Red Bull for $14?!?!?! That’s like $2 a sip for how small it was!). But for a honeymoon, you might be looking for that level of luxury. (But MGM’s pool area still might win me over…)

Thanks ladies ! What y’all think about the Mirage ? And have any of yall done the ATV tours ?? Thank y’all for being soo helpful !

Mirage is pretty dated, much like the MGM. It’s in a great part of the strip, but the hotel itself is nothing to write home about.
I’ve never done ATV tours in Vegas, but I’ve done them on other vacations and they are pretty much the most fun thing ever! I would highly recommend them!

ARIA! It’s gorgeous. I’ve been to Vegas 5 or 6 times now and I stayed at the Aria in September, it was beautiful.

We go to Vegas several times a year (mini vacation with the friends coming up for New Years, woohoo!). I love the Signature at MGM. One of my favorite rooms in Vegas. However, I don’t love that there isn’t a casino. I don’t really have any feelings about the MGM Grand other than it’s a bit far side of the strip for me.
If we’re talking location, I would pick Aria. I prefer to be as central on the strip as possible. Casino is a major plus. Not to mention that CityCenter is gorgeous.
