Success ladies, I had to share my experience today! I can not believe I actually found a dress today. I got a Badgley Mischka, orginally priced at $8,125 for only $699. Yes the train needs to be busteled, I am having the straps removed and there are a few little holes in the lace that need to be repaired but I am actually really happy. I didnt even know it was Bridesmaid or Best Man until I left the madhouse (Filene’s Basement) and tried it on again at home. YAY!!!!!!
The experience was fun and a little brutal. Brides ran in grabbed as many dresses as they could them hoarded them in corners and refused to give them up even if they didnt want them and then used them to trade. I simply put mine back on the rack for other brides not understaning the whole trade concept. If you hate a dress, you hate it. Someone else may love it so be kind and pass it on!!!!That and a few overly excited attitudes were the only issues we had. I went with another friend of mine who is a bride, my mother and her mother, sadly she didnt find anything.
If you have a chance to go ladies, go and make sure you bring plenty of back up, comfortable shoes, tights and a tank so you can get in and out of the dresses easily. (All the brides were stripped down to nothing, including myself, in an effort to speed the process) water, a full length mirror (like from walmart there are not enough in the store), snacks and a lot of patience. Those signs that everyone was holding up with styles and sizes did NOT work! Plenty of sizes even 22’s from what I heard and 24’s. And last but not least get there early. But, if you dont get there right away its ok, its actually better that way in my opinion. after the first chaotic rush people start giving up dresses and with in 30 min they start putting them back on the racks and employees also start replenishing as well.
Happy hunting ladies! I’m the biggest skeptic and cant believe what I walked away with! And remember if you do go…don’t be a jerk, help the ladies out next to you and pass along those dresses. The ones you help and are kind to, usually return the favor! Good Luck!
