South Beach is a lot of fun. But dependent upon what you want to do, the weather may not be the best. It will be hot, with highs in the low 80’s, but cooler days are common as well. Please note that in some areas pick pocketing is a bit of an issue.

I love Miami! Do you guys like going out? The night life is so much fun. Ocean Drive and Collins Ave are the best places to hit up. Mango’s is a salsa club that is a lot of fun. Just down the street from Mango’s is the Clevelander, which is one of my favorite places. It is an ourdoor bar/club around a pool. If you want more upscale, The Delano or Shore Club are a lot of fun… but very expensive if you drink liquor. B.E.D. is really cool, too. I think that is on Washington Ave though. I don’t go out very much at all in our hometown, but Miami’s night life is just so much fun that you can’t resist!

They also have a lot day trips to Key West and thinks like that. What do you guys like to do for fun? The beaches are beautiful. The water is blue and the sand is super soft. South Beach is topless, just as a heads up. They have a lot of jet ski rentals and things like that, too. If you enjoy shopping, there is a pretty awesome outdoor mall on Lincoln. It has everything you can think of, even a few art and photography galleries.

For breakfast/brunch, the News Cafe (on Ocean Dr) is really amazing. They have fresh squeezed OJ that is out of this world.

Sorry for the long post. I just love Miami! You will have so much fun!

I went to Miami in late November last year and the weather was PERFECT. We stayed at the Fontainebleau & basically lived on the daybeds by the pool the whole time (with a few trips to the spa mixed in). It was warm enough to be out, but cool enough to be enjoyable and not sweating.

I wouldn’t say the Fontainebleau was very honeymoon-like (half the hotel was rented for various corporate events while we were there)…but it was an extremely relaxing, enjoyable trip.  It could work if you guys don’t mind being around other people and/or you can find the right hotel for the amount of privacy / activity you want. We liked Miami in general enough to go back again someday!

I will agree with someone else on drinks being pricey at the hotels. I think ours were about $15-18ish each at the hotel. Including hotels, cabs, food, drink, spa….the trip was definitely equally (or maybe a little more) expensive vs. Cancun / Cabo trips we’ve done in the past.

I am a Hilton Honors member and I love the Hampton Inns. It is nice, clean with breakfast included and priced right, so I usually stay in one of them. These are my favorites in the Miami area:

In Downtown: Hampton Inn & Suites Miami Brickell Downtown (http://www.hamptoninnmiamibrickell.com/). It is about one year old, right in the middle of Downtown. It is perfect if you want to explore a little of Miami. It is a couple blocks from Mary Brickell Village (http://www.marybrickellvillage.com/) and a short metromover (free monorail) ride to Bayside MarketPlace (http://www.baysidemarketplace.com/), the touristic shopping center by the port.

In Coconut Grove: Hampton Inn Coconut Grove (http://www.hamptoninncoconutgrove.com/). It is in a quiet part of town, but still very close to downtown. If you want some peace and quiet for your honeymoon, that is the place.

In Miami Airport – Blue Lagoon: Hampton Inn & Suites Miami Airport South Blue Lagoon (http://www.hamptoninnmiamiairport.com/). It is perfect if you are getting in town for a cruise because it has an Airport Shuttle to the hotel.

In South Beach: If you want to party like a rock star that is the place! It is not my thing, so I never stayed there… I liked spending a day there, but not the whole vacation.
