@eshababy520:  I am on a pretty tight budget for our wedding down there. I hired Elevation9 Photogrpahy. Its two guys and they are awesome. I think they have a facebook….

Very VERY affordable and under $2,000 for basically first look, getting ready and the whole evening!

Coordinator: Sugar(ed) Event Design and Planning – Miranda was absolutely, positively the best coordinator ever. She understood my vision from the first time we spoke. Love her.

Photographer: Elevation 9 Photography – Bobby and Andrew were amazing!!!

Videographer: Michael Burgos Films – PERFECTION

DJ: Avant DJ’s (DJ Darron Faison was PHENOMENAL)

Florist: Love the Blooms – love love loved

Cake: Hugh’s Catering but made by Sweeter Days (sooo freaking delish)

Officiant: Rev. Eddie Rodriguez (the most perfect officiant ever!)

Dress: I got my baby at Daisy Tarsi. I had a great experience there!

@alaskin17:  What did you rent from Unearthed if you dont mind me asking? they don’t have their prices online but theyre stuff fits our style. I called them last week but there line was busy and haven’t had the time to call back. I’m afraid there prices are crazy high now that they’re so popular.

@MrsCasanova:  I rented ALOT alot of items. IF you check out our recap (posted pics on the recap board) we rented the following from the pics:

-farmhouse tables

-mismatched chairs

-all the lighting

-church pews for the ceremony

-cake and misc. dressers for reception

-furniture for lounge area (I think 3 pieces)

-china and flatware

-chandelier

-custom made ribbon chandelier and ribbon backdrop

-3-4 mini chalkboards

They also took the time to set everything up and worked with my coordinator to achieve the look I wanted.

They are honestly a fantastic company and I would recommend them a MILLION times over. I think their prices are very reasonable. I am not sure if they have raised their prices but I do know that they have moved to a much larger location because of how popular they become. When I first met them, they were in a small warehouse. I’m really happy they have become so sucessfull.

IF you want quality and antastic customer service, I’d contact them. Katie aand Jovan are spectacular people πŸ™‚

Hey South Florida bees, we just had our pre-DW reception in Miami last weekend and it was an awesome party, but over in a flash! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the vendors we used.

Venue/Food: The Chart House in Coconut Grove- Apparently the Chart House’s days are numbered since they are rebuilding that section of the waterfront in the Grove and are tearing it down sometime in the near future. Even still, the food was as delicious as ever. There was a slight bit of drama at the last minute since the former events manager (who no longer works at Chart House) had told us when we originally booked that we would be able to use their covered deck in the event of rain, so we could go ahead and book a DJ to play outside (DJs cannot play music inside the restaurant). Well, when the forecast started calling for rain, the current events manager at first said we couldn’t use the covered deck since our party didn’t meet the minimum amount to buy out that deck. I was beyond stressed the day before our event thinking we would have to cancel our DJ, but Fiance stepped in and negotiated with the Chart House that we could use the covered deck anyway. We were so grateful to the Chart House management for working with us to make sure we had a great evening the way we had pictured it would be.

DJ: Bitton Events- Such a good experience with these guys! We booked them maybe 3 weeks before our party (we had been going back and forth about having a DJ or not for a looong time) and they were able to help us out on short notice, played a lot of our requested songs, and got our small and quiet-ish crowd to let loose a little. Our evening wouldn’t have been as successful without their services.

Flowers: Fresh Market (Coconut Grove)- Michelle in the floral department did an excellent job of taking our vague descriptions of what we wanted and coming up with some beautiful arrangements that fit our event perfectly. 

Cake: Fresh Market (Coconut Grove)

Dress: Rented from Rent the Runway (clearly not a bridal dress but I’d rent a wedding dress from them if I could!)

Shoes: My new favorite Choos from Nordstrom, Village of Merrick Park

Jewelry: Nordstrom, Village of Merrick Park

Hair/Makeup: Adrianna at Detlev Aveda Salon, Coconut Grove- We had so much fun with her! The finished product was gorgeous and I’d recommend Adrianna for any special events updos, makeup, and the like.

Invitations: Shayna from Steel Petal Press (found on Etsy) created beautiful save-the-dates and custom designed the invitations for us. They were the perfect touch to tie the event together and set the mood for a great evening. 

Rings: I got mine from Tiffany & Co., Merrick Park, and Fiance got his titanium band and custom engraving from Etsy seller mymoment. We’re both happy πŸ™‚

One thing I regret is not having a photographer- we thought we would have time to take some pictures ourselves but it just didn’t happen. Lesson learned- we’ll be prepared when it’s time for our “real” Destination Wedding next year!
