Michael Hill Australia is fantastic, all of my rings are from there, ranging from $500$10k, have never had any problems over the years, the lifetime careplan covers redipping, repairs (havent needed any) resizing etc, all of my diamonds are GIA certified so I know exactly what the specs are and have had them independantly valued for insurance purposes which came out a little higher spec wise…like anywhere there will be good and bad reviews, as long as you get what you are paying for…and with a GIA report you cant go wrong, good luck

So far all the jewellery that I own my fiancee bought me and it’s all been from People’s and I have never had a problem with it

I’ve gotta say, my original wedding ring and e-ring are from People’s. They were cheap (under $500) back 25 years ago (we were in university and poor!), but over the years I’ve never had a problem. No loose, lost, or chipped stones. No broken prongs, no scratches on the gold (and I NEVER take off my rings). These rings have been through hell and back, but still look great.
Now, the diamonds aren’t the greatest quality (I have no idea of specs, but my guess is probably SI quality, I-J colour, and about 0.1 ct), but the set has held up well. If you spend some real $$ I definitely say you should get a GIA cert for the diamond to make sure you’re getting what you’re paying for, but as for quality of the settings, they’ve both performed well (and hell no, I don’t get them checked every 6 months! I maybe get them checked every 5 years).

I know this post is old, but my ring is from Peoples, I do not recommend going there. Their sizing does not match up to other stores at all, I was measured a 5.5 at Spence as well as another store and Peoples resized my ring to a 5.5 apparently. I took it back to this other store to get it resized again because it felt too big and they measured it being a 6. On top of that, this store that resized my ring for me told me my ring was full of chipped diamonds and inclusions. Id rather take my money elsewhere.

errr, no, it’s not. I’ve known so many people (my own sister included) who bought from Michael Hill and had to get their rings completely remade a few years on because they essentially disintegrated.
For those kind of prices, you could get a custom ring made by hand by a good jeweller, not a cast ring from a mall jeweller. I say keep looking, OP.
