I have had them. They do damage your hair when you take them out but with a hair treatment at the salon afterwards it doesnt make it a big deal. Some people find it painful when the time comes to take them out and putting them is a long process. I think mine took close to a half a day. (About 6hrs)

The mistake I made when I had them was that I used a cheaper type of shampoo. You want to avoid using the shampoos with lauryl sulfate I believe it is, as this will actually destroy the bond and you will end up shedding and your hair looks like a rats nest. I use bed head when I have them in. Hope this helps Smile

I would just be worried about how hot they’ll be all summer. I was going to get them but the thought of having heavy hair all summer was terrible so I decided on clip-ins!

I would REALLY highly recommend trying clip-ins…they don’t damage your hair at all, and can be cut, heat styled, etc…plus they’re about 1/3 of the price:)

I have these ones: http://www.headkandy.com, and can NOT say enough about how great they are! If you send them a pic of your hair they will match it up to a shade for you, and they have a ton of different lengths, etc. I live in Canada and they only took about 4 days to come by mail….

ditto to the clip-ins! plus they are less expensive — OP, fwiw a good stylist can make clip ins work/look the same as microbead.

After having had them, would you recommend them and what was the upkeep/maintence like? Would you recommend them? im wary about damaging my hair also.

I have had micro bead extensions, fusion and a weave. The only ones I liked were the fusion ones (I had them for a few years, took them out last August and will be getting them again in a couple of months).
