You know, people make fun of the weather here, but we seem to be in the clear on this one. Yay Cleveland!!

@Woodstock:  So not looking forward to these things. Yuck. I remember a neighbor boy stuffed a dead cicada down my shirt when I was younger and I have hated them since. Thank goodness these things only come every 17 years. Ew….

Oh shit.  Shit shit shit shit shit.  Really?? I just moved to NJ.  I only know of cicadas in the abstract/I’m a trivia nerd sense.  My wedding is outdoors in June.  Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttttttttttttttttttttttt…………..are we totally screwed??? Do they respond to…citronella candles?  Off/Veet/whatever?  The inlaws are already incredibly worried about the heat, if we’re attacked by bugs I might just die.  Eff.

Wait I am in VA. Please tell me this isn’t happening. I am going to die. I’m taking summer classes and I’m pregnant. Which means I have to walk miles outside everyday.

Please dear god, say this isn’t in virginia.

@harperlynn:  VA is one of the states affected unfortunately. 🙁 At least they don’t bite or anything. Just a nuisance more than anything. :/ I am not looking forward to it. They should be starting to hatch in about a week or so….

@PetraArkanian:  They won’t attack you. They really are harmless, just gross and more of a nuisance than anything.

@lovelylight99:  Omg, like VA isn’t bad enough in the summer. I swear as soon as May hits you should never drive on 95 again. NOW this? I don’t even know what to expect. I’m freaking out. Does bug repellant work? I’m about to make a belt out of those circle things.

@harperlynn:  I am not sure. I would look on the website that the first poster posted. They won’t normally land on you and when they do it would be by accident. I am not looking forward to the mass numbers of them. Ew….

@lovelylight99:  Doesn’t say I posted it on my facebook and I got some graphic replies. Apparently when they are done mating they die and then their (there-grammer check?) bodies just lay everywhere. Someone said because I’m in a city it shouldn’t be as bad, but who knows. Freaking VA, it was snowing 2 weeks ago and now this mess.

Ewwwww. Iowa doesn’t get them till next year… and I don’t think we got them in Des Moines last time. Or maybe I don’t remember.

But thanks for the nightmares.
