@MrsDrRose612:  I heard it shouldn’t because they come out of the ground/grass and RVA is mostly pavement. I mean the summer is gross here anyway because it always smells so awful but, I’m hoping we won’t have to deal with this. I wouldn’t go out to like goochland or varina though…ICK.

@harperlynn:  OH god…why does it smell awful here in the summer?  I’ve only lived here since August and since I worked from home during that time I didn’t really get out around the downtown/bottom area until well into the fall. I sort of stayed around the west end when we first got here!

@MrsDrRose612:  Well the pavement makes it REALLY hot and for some reason that smell is disgusting, it always smells like really hot trash (ick), also the water is disgusting this time of year and I feel like the smell evaporates into the air. The biggest thing I noticed is that the  universities planted some trees, apparently there are male & female and one doesn’t smell gross and one does. Well they planted the wrong one and when they bloom they are STINKY.

But we should avoid a lot of the bugs, fingers crossed. I just wouldn’t go down to the river or pony pasture. I refuse to go down there anyway because the bacteria is disgusting, and there is all those drunk teenagers and hipsters, but definitely not now.
