I tend to buy a lot of my clothing online nowadays, but when I do shop in stores I’m really pushing myself to stay away from the JRs section (I’m 25 btw). It’s not that I’m trying to hold onto my youth or anything, it’s just I’m so used to automatically gravitating toward that section of the store. Ironically, I HATE the way JRs clothes look on me now, and I haven’t worn a pair of jeans in about 4 years because they never fit comfortably or flattering on my hips, plus the number always really depresses me and is extremely triggering. Three weeks ago my SO took me to Banana Republic and surprise surprise, I found a pair of flattering jeans (and in a smaller size, good news for my psyche) to boot. So it’s really giving me that extra push not to shy away from stores aimed toward “older” women, especially since I definitely DO want to give off a more polished and mature look nowadays anyway.
And IF I decide to have a child, then, I will never get a “mom” cut. Ever. I’ve always had short hair. I’m sick of it. Every time it gets long I chop it all off and regret it a month later. I’m finally growing it out again and I’m not going to give it up for something ugly and practical when a ponytail will work just fine.
