ok so we’ve known from day 1 that our little girl would be Sawyer… and we had picked out Lee as a middle name, but now as we are getting closer I’m second guessing the middle name. I kind of want it to be more girly since her first name goes both ways. heres the problem.. Lee is my grandmas middle name and I kinda told her that we were giving Sawyer the middle name Lee. I’m not sure what to do. and If I were to change it, what would I change it to? I Like the sound of Sawyer Rose… ugh help I’m feeling like I really want to explore options of a different middle name so Incase she wants to use her middle name later in life she can. But I feel like Ive signed a contract with my grandmother and would feel guilty. I should have kept the whole thing a secret!
what would you do?
if you were to change it, what middle name would you go with?

It’s your baby’s name that you and her have to live with your whole life, you should name her what you want. That being said, I still would do what I told my grandma, but that’s just me.
I think Sawyer Lee is pretty! But then again my baby girl is named Rose so I’m biased there.

I love naming babies after people. We’re naming our baby after both of our moms.
Would you consider Sawyer Leigh? That way, the name is the same, but the spelling is a little more feminine.

Leigh is a pretty girly spelling. or what about rosalee/rosalie?

I definitely think that you should spell it Leigh if you decide to go that route, but I also think Rose sounds really good with it as well

I agree with PP’s idea of combining Lee with another name. That way you can have the best of both worlds 🙂

Love rosalie. Great idea!

Rosalie would be beautiful, definitely feminine, and keep your grandmother’s name. So pretty!

Since Sawyer is so masculine, I would use a name like Katherine or something very girly for the middle name.

I wouldnt say Sawyer is ‘so’ masculine – I definitly think it can go either way. I am on the Rosalie (spelling optional) boat … only because one of the most fantastic people I know in real life is named Rosalie .

I like both suggestions of “Leigh” or “Rosalie.” Sawyer is a great name!

@artbee:I also like Rose.

Thanks for all of your opinions! It helps! except Darling Husband and my mom think we should just keep it as Sawyer Lee because it just rolls of the tongue nice. But I’m still on the fence about it… I’m just over thinking it. The reason Is because I have a name that goes either way and is more of a boy name rathar than a girls name. but I have a middle name Renee so that helps make my name a little more girly.
Sawyer Rosalee (I would keep the double ee, because if I lose that I should just change it all together) I like the rosalee, but is it too much?

There’s also the option of giving her two middle names. I know a lot of people who have done that in the last few years.

I don’t think Sawyer Rosalee is too much. In fact, I like it better than just Sawyer Lee or Sawyer Rose.
