I dont want to be rude or anything ( im new) but besides meaning under Geneva that name sound kinda rough in my opinion. If you r going for middle name I think u should try to find it should fit perfectly melodic. Elle Geneva bite it self for me. But meaning is very beautifull

Ooh, this is tough. I’ve always thought of Elle as a nickname for Eleanor or Elizabeth or some other longer name, so having it as a first name makes is harder to pair.

How about sticking with other French names?

Elle Camilla

Elle Celeste

Elle Colette

Elle Mathilde/Matilda

Elle Adrianna

Elle Avery

Elle Vivienne

Elle Roselyn/Rosalind

Elle Audrey

beevincent18 :  I like both Elle Josephine and Elle Geneva, but I like Elle Geneva more.

My husband has a middle name that’s a Japanese. It’s kind of similar to your idea of Geneva–my MIL is not Japanese but grew up in Japan and wanted to honor that part of her life when they were naming my husband. I have to say Darling Husband loves that his middle name ties into his mother’s life–makes it all the more meaningful to him.

Middle names aren’t really used anyway. No one knows that my husband’s middle name is Japanese because he doesn’t ever write it out unless it’s on an official form. It’s also not that unusual to not have a first name type of name for a middle name. MIL’s middle name is her maiden name. I know Darling Husband has some cousins who have their mom’s maiden name as their middle name. Honestly if you give your daughter the middle name Geneva, I don’t think anyone will know or bat an eye. Personally, I don’t even have a middle name and it hasn’t been a problem for me.

kityne :  I also like this PP’s idea of Elle Juniper (to reference the meaning of Geneva).

OP, you only need one name combination and it sounds like there are two that you and your husband can agree on. So at least that’s good! 🙂

I like Elle Geneva and think it’s sweet that it’s similar to where you two got married! I don’t know why that’d be a downside.  I also like PP’s suggestion of Elle Rosalyn.

Elle Rhiannon? Elle Iona? Elle Marina? Elle Gianna? Elle Clarissa? Elle Anora? (I like this one because it sounds like Ellanora if you say it fast) Is there a heritage one of you likes that you’d want to represent in middle name? Or a favorite movie character? I do like Geneva though, if he changes his mind!
