libertine_lady :  It’s kind of hard to know what you consider “subtle” and not OTT”.  It sounds like you have some initial ideas, but want more?  I would make an inspiration board or your own pinterest with the elements you like.  Also do you have any photos of the venue?

I love this theme! I have a wicked Pinterest board full of ideas… I don’t know what you consider over the top, but you can always execute on a much smaller scale😊 I put this together for you because I can’t sleep.

creativeplannertobee :  This!!

@libertine_lady: We’re having a midsummer night’s dream wedding but some of our elements would probably be considered OTT to most people.

I loved our venue so much, I wasn’t willing to sacrifice…therefore we’re bringing the outdoors in.

For our receiving table, I purchased several glass cloches in different sizes with matching gold stands and will be putting theme related items in them.

This is the largest one…

Medium…not yet on the stand…

The small…

The scroll is our guestbook…

Mini birdcage with butterflies.  Our cardbox is also a birdcage..

A couple of framed quotes done by my calligraphy artist…

Cake serving set with our nicknames…

Champagne flutes which are on the way…

We’re also renting a bunch of trees to scatter throughout the reception space.

Will be bringing in caricature artists for the guests but instead of their own clothing, they’ll be drawn wearing Elizabethan era clothes.

And we’ll have 2 statue artists dressed up like the fairies.  They’ll be flanking the reception doors and will come to life when we make our grand entrance…

libertine_lady :  Theme twin! Well, kind of. We’re doing a mix of Alice in Wonderland meets Midsummer Night’s Dream. We’re having it outside with long rectangle tables and 6″ wide moss table runners. On top of those will be books and lanterns and such (we have more, but it’s more Alice than MND). I recommend a lot of ivy, and lanterns of all types hanging in the trees. Have you thought about mismatched china plates? We are doing that and they range from $.50 to $1.99 per plate depending on where you get them. I love Puck’s last monologue of “If we shadows have offended, think but this and all is mended….” that you could incorporate if you have nice handwriting or a calligrapher. We have a lower budget so we weren’t able to do/purchase some more ornate decor like some of the PPs but I think ours has a nice touch to it.

Best of luck and I hope we’ve given you at least some inspiration!
