I would call in to work and say you arent coming due to weather conditions. Work is not worth risking your life. Darling Husband totalled his car last year because he went to work in a blizzard – play it safe, I’m sure your employer would understand

I wouldn’t go. Your “slow drive” could very easily turn into an “impossible to drive” situation like it did on the east coast last week. People were stuck in their cars on the highway for 2 days. Not worth the risk of it’s going to be anything like that.

mrsfiddlesticks:  no way you’re a great pet mom. I always joke about how in a zombie apocalypse I will likely die because I will hoard cat food and lock myself away with my cat until the end (Where he often eats my corpse to survive in this scenario)

indianpolis here! Just drive safely, slowly – even if it takes you 2 hours to get home at least you are home and safe.

Monikax3x3:  +1. I live in Chicago and we get plenty of terrible shit weather. I used to power through it but I am not a a critical cog in the wheel and neither is my job. I am not a nurse, police officer, surgeon. The world will function fine if I stay home one day

Its seriously not worth wrecking your car or getting in an accident. Your employer should understand.

mrsfiddlesticks:  Well that is because we actually know how to handle snow, for snow days. I don’t think we hardly every got snowdays growing up and I grew up in rural Minnesota.

I telecommute myself and last few years my employer has been letting us work from home if the weather is going to be bad.
