@AutumnMrs:  Sending Happy Chanukah cards would be a lovely touch, but if that’s not an option then a Christmas card with a little note acknowledging that you know they might not celebrate Christmas but that you were thinking about them at this time of year.

If you can, try to send a “Happy Holidays” card to those Jewish families. I would be like WTF a little if I got a Merry Christmas card from someone who knows that I don’t celebrate Christmas.

While I certainly wouldn’t be offended, I’d be a little “WTF?” if I knew that you knew I didn’t celebrate Christmas.  Sending a seperate card is the considerate thing to do.

Just noticed the gal above me wrote nearly the exact same thing.  Apparently great minds think alike.

I’d be more annoyed than anything. But I’m used to it.

this gets my panties in a bunch every year.  I’m Jewish.  During the holidays if someone who doesn’t know that I’m Jewish wishes me Merry Christmas I have no problem with that, they are just trying to be polite.  But I get SO irritated when people who know I”m Jewish wish me a Merry Christmas.  They obviously know I don’t celebrate it, why can’t they respect that?  I have one freind in particular that sends me a christmas card every year and it’s always very christmacy and it drives me crazy!

I don’t think it’s offensive, but it is in poor taste since you clearly know they don’t celebrate Christmas. Use your regular cards for everyone else and buy 3 generic cards for the families that don’t celebrate Christmas to show them that you respect their beliefs

We own a business and send out cards to our clients along with a jar of jelly and an ornament. One year we didn’t give out the ornament and the only customers to ask us about it was our Jewish ones! they hung them in windows and such. the next year we got ornaments that were the star of david that had a flower in it… they made great sun catchers and great ornaments! We always made sure to use Happy Holiday cards because there is Kawanza (did I spell that right?) and those who don’t celebrate anything as well. you know your friends best, are they friends of his or yours? If you think they would be offended then send a different card. Otherwise just write a note.
