Wasn’t really sure to post this because this is a whole load of news, so if you make it through, thank you and well done! So anyway, my FI got told that her work contract expires on March 31st. That was the date it was due to expire but today she got confirmation that they are definitely not renewing it. And so far she hasn’t been able to find another job here. I work from home for a call center, so se can’t afford to live how we do now on my salary alone. So, if she can’t get a job here, our only option is to move to the UK. My whole family are there and would be more than happy to help us out if they needed to.
Here comes the tricky bit. I’m a UK citizen (was born there and moved here in Dec 2012 to live with FI, who was born in Texas but raised here in Nicaragua). So, FI is not a UK citizen. If we were to move there then she would have to get a visa and everything to be able to work. We need to look into this more before we make any concrete decisions, but we’re wondering if the easiest way for her to do this is for us to get married. Which means we could potentially be married by May!! I’m feeling so scared (about moving), excited (about marrying) and about a million more emotions mixed in with that!!
There is still the chance that she may get a job here and we won’t need to move, but it’s unlikely tbh. But the fact we could actually be married in two months is just amazing.
Please wish us luck bees, we need it! And if anyone has any info at all about UK emmigration, please let me know!
