Ours isn’t just a honeymoon baby…the Kid’s a WEDDING NIGHT baby! (almost 99% sure, since circumstances surrounding our wedding made the wedding night & the night after the only nights we were alone for nearly two weeks post wedding) We waited only long enough to get confirmation from the doc (& the first pic of the Kid!) at 7 weeks…spread the news via a video Hubs made that same night. We weren’t the only ones shocked about how fast things moved…but everyone shifted immediately shifted to “ecstatically happy” for us, probably pretty easy, since we’d been together for 12 years before getting married.
Congrats on your pregnancy & good luck spreading the news!

We arn’t having a honeymoon baby but we got pregnant about a month after the wedding.
We were married in June and our little girl is due in April ๐
@foreveryoung I also had just recently gotten off the pill and never been regular and didn’t think I’d get pregnant so quickly…but we were so excited I did!! ๐

We saved our honeymoon for 6 months into our marriage because we wanted to go to Europe. So it was also our conception-moon. ๐ Thrilled…
Other people’s responses?–DH’s mentor (our pastor who wedded us) said we were on the ‘fast track’. Also since we were so undecided about having kids before we got married, we had to explain to people that we were really ready and decided to have kids about 4 months after being married and intentionally planned and prayed for our April conception.
I know 2 people who had honeymoon babies. One couple had been together for less than a year but known each other for years. Another couple had been living together for over 5 years prior. ๐

Honeymoon baby right here. Totally not planned but considering we took the proper precautions, I feel like it was just meant to happen. Even my midwife had a hard time believing we conceived when we did. I cried when I first found out because I felt we weren’t ready but my husband and I took time alone to think about it and we reached the same conclusion that we were in fact ready.
We waited until after the first ultrasound, around 5 or 6 weeks, to tell our parents and immediate family. We planned to wait until 12 weeks to tell everyone else but we were so excited that we emailed our friends at 8 weeks to tell them. Everyone is really excited for us.

So it’s official… we’re having a baby!
I took the home pregnancy test on Sunday and it turned positive so fast, I didn’t get a chance to wait it out with the hubby. I came out of the bathroom with the positive already in hand.
Since we’re going to visit my parents for Christmas and want them to be the first to know, We went to the doctor on Monday to get a bloodtest just to make sure it’s true. Just got a call earlier to confirm. =0)
@fourpeass: I know how you feel. One of the reasons we took so long (3 weeks after my missed period) to take the test is because we were nervous. I’d probably be freaking out right now if my hubby wasn’t being so cool and excited about it. His reaction has really helped me put things into perspective and tell myself that it’s meant to be and we can handle it.
He keeps telling me that he’s glad I’m taking it so well, but honestly, so am I. I do admit, I’m still nervous but I think once we tell our immediate families, I’ll feel alot better about it.
@ms.pascua: Wow! Congrats! Wedding night baby is super special. =0) We have a feeling ours was a wedding night baby too, but there’s no telling for sure. Oh well. Even though you and your hubby didn’t get much alone time, it’s pretty awesome to be able to pin point your conception night. Again, congrats!
And congrats to all the new mommies-to-be!

@lopezlulu: Congrats!
We don’t plan on having a baby for a while, but if I forget to take my pill, the honeymoon would be the perfect time for me to get pregnant. I would be ovulating around the time of our wedding.

congrats!
I have friend who was planning on having a baby soon after the wedding so she stopped taking the pill a month before, thinking it would take awhile. She actually found out she was pregnant the day before the wedding. Sometimes it just works out!

We just got married on 12/4 and I found out I was pregnant on 12/10. Our doctor’s appt is next week so we are waiting until then to tell immediate family. Its a perfect Christmas gift! Everyone knew that we wanted to have kids right away, but I’m sure no one is expecting it to have happened this soon! We were pretty surpirsed ourselves….I thought it wouldn’t happen for several months. Its meant to be I guess….we are VERY excited!!

@SecretName: I don’t have my first OB appointment until January 6th so don’t have an estimated due date from the doctor yet. But based on the calculations they give online (40 weeks from the date of your last period)… I’m thinking it might be July 31st.
@PinkPinstripes: No worries. That’s a legitimate question. After I saw your post, I googled it myself, lol.

Thats my mom’s birthday! Congratulations. The doctors use the same calendar thing that you can find online so until you get an ultrasound to actually measure how big the fetus is they go with that for your due date. My next u/s is on the 6th as well!

@SecretName: Thanks! I just looked at the actual online calculator, and it also estimates our conception date to be our wedding night! Pretty amazing. Can’t wait to find out a more accurate time though.
I guess we’re both starting the year off with baby on the brain. =0)
When are you due?
