Fiance and I recently decided that, if at all possible, we want to be married in the chapel at our alma mater (Hendricks Chapel at Syracuse University). I originally wanted an outdoor ceremony, but the stress from trying to plan that AND a backup in case of terrible weather just doesn’t seme like something I want. We met and fell in love while students together at SU, so it would be very fitting and meaningful to be married there.
Today, I heard back from their coordinator. Unfortunately, the last date in August 2013 that they’ll do a ceremony is August 10. I’ve had my heart set on August 17 for ages, but it looks like now my choice will be between place or date. Bah!
I honestly don’t have too many problems with changing the date. It’d still be August, and if I got the ceremony venue I wanted even better!
BUT: My MOH’s wedding anniversary is August 2. I don’t think she’d be the type to care about our dates being really close together, but I’m also a little afraid of spoiling her thunder in the anniversary category… does anyone think that’d be a problem? Is it bad etiquette/form to choose a date so close to someone else’s anniversary?
