MIL-Super close.  Talk to her more than my own mom.  She was my boss for the past year, but I’ve just taken a position with a new company.  We go out to lunch quite often. 🙂

SIL-Not so much.  For a whole mess of reasons that I won’t get into right now.  Maybe if she pisses me off again down the road I’ll write a post about it.  But basically she has been very critical of me and FI’s relationship, even though the rest of the family has been extremely supportive.  She herself hasn’t had a relationship last more than 6 months.

we dont have anything in common except for being married to the same family so we are all friendly and polite but not friends

Younger Future Sister-In-Law and I are really close. She’s like a younger, more fun version of myself. We go out and party and will spend hours talking. Older Future Sister-In-Law and I aren’t as close, but we like each other. Same for Future Mother-In-Law.

Mother-In-Law, She is a very nice lady and I like to talk to her, but usually only talk to her and see her when I am at her house, with Fiance. Main reason for this is that we live about 1.5 hours away from her.

I don’t have a SIL

I wish I had better relationships with my SIL (husband brother’s wife) and Mother-In-Law.

Unfortunately, my Mother-In-Law has a history of mental health problems that have been getting worse over the past few years.  She’s not really interested in having a relationship with anyone in the family.

I don’t have anything in common with my SIL.  I’m finishing my doctorate degree and she has a high school diploma.  I’m in my mid-twenties and focused on my career.  I’ve always worked/ volunteered/ gone to school.  She quits her jobs because they are “too hard.”  She’s 19/20 and is pregnant with her second child.  Oh, and she’s currently in jail…
