@jedeve:As far as the wedding goes, if you’re like me the harder you try not to talk/think about something, the more you do. It might be good to go ahead and ask your Fiance, “Do you feel like we need to postpone the wedding? I don’t want to put pressure on you, but now would be a good time to let people know.” He’ll probably say no, let’s go ahead (and maybe you’ve already had that convo). Then you can just say “okay, I’m gonna keep working on it so you don’t have ot think about it, but I don’t want it to look callous if I’m wedding planning.”

That’s a really good idea.

I was going to say the same. Offer to postpone the wedding out of respect. If he still wants to continue you can do so quietly.

I’m so sorry for everyone’s loss, unexpected death is so difficult. He must feel totally blindsided.

I’m sorry.  Something similar happened to my cousin’s wife.  She ended up posponing the wedding, but it was rough.  I hope your fiance and everyone who loved her are surrounded with love and find comfort somehow.

@blondebride2:

So so sorry for your loss, and to experience FI’s heartbreak all at once. He must be devastated, I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry to hear your sad news.

We went through something similar. My Mother-In-Law died 4 months before our wedding. She had been ill on and off for over 15 years but we still weren’t expecting it (she was 53 years old). She had viral pneumonia.

I didn’t want to talk to my fiancé about the wedding either, but he very quickly told me that his mum wsa so pleased that we were getting married and would be distraught if we postponed it.

It was a hard decision to make but looking back, it was the right one. We were all able to remember her (and my dad who died 3 years ago, at the age of 54) but it was a celebration and it felt like that. although there were a few tears, everyone really made the day wonderul.

i am not sure whehter that can comfort you or your Fiance at such a horrible and hard time for you, I hope so. Me and (now) hubby are stronger than ever going through that and we definitely felt that she (and my dad) were looking over us on the day.

Lots of hugs x

Sorry for your loss. My grandfather died a few months before my wedding and we had to spend some wedding money on his funeral. It was stressful, but everything worked out in the end. Hugs honey!
