I’ll start off by saying I love this woman to death. She happened to stumble across some personalized wine bottle labels on Pintrest that somewhat match our invitations and got ridiculously excited. Our invitations have nothing to do with our theme. The DIY kit just happened to be on sale and they are my fave color. I’d prefer the favors to go along with my theme. I’d also prefer that each individual guest have their own favor. And since there will be minors as well as non-drinkers at our reception, I don’t want to give them freaking wine bottles! It would have to be the cheap wine too, and I am of the opinion that if you are going to give something of low quality just for the hell of it you’re better off not giving anything at all, otherwise it comes across as tacky. I think the whole bottle of cheap wine, one per family, just because they match our invitations is a bad idea and a waste of money. I’ve voiced this to her several times but she’s so darn excited about those matching labels and won’t budge. Once again, I love her so I will not be rude and firm with her. I need a tactful way to prevent this from happening without being disrespectful. Any ideas?
