We’re having a wedding of 7x.
My bridesmaids (sisters) and mom (short hair) will all be wearing hteir hair down.
Mother-In-Law has asked for a hair UPDO (its the headshot of a young woman and looks like a bridal hair totally). i was taken aback cos its not exactly a black-tie event and was thinking i’d be the only one wearing an updo….
is this ok or am being too weird???

Why shouldn’t she be able to have the hairstyle she wants. As long as shes is not attaching a veil to it and wearing a white dress, I don’t see an issue here. If anything it will make it seem like she really cared enough about your day to have her hair done nicely.

@kerensa: thanks for the reply. i guess cos all the weddings we’ve been to (non black tie, and ours is also non black tie) the bride was the only one with an UP-do). also i guess when i asked my sisters adn best friend their first instinct was to keep a more casual look and pushed me to be the only one with the up-do. and she did not want a stylish (i arranged for stylish for her, her reaction.. we need a stylist????) so i did not expect her to come back with a hairstyle that is almost exactly to what I would wear….

I don’t see the problem ….plus I am sure many guests will have their up too. It’s very common.

I don’t see the problem here, she wants to look nice. It’s not a white or super sexy dress…it’s just a hairstyle.

I think it’s fine. Let her do her hair as she wishes. There’s nothing wrong with that.

Let it go , she just wants to look nice. I wouldn’t get caught up in the little things like that you will stress yourself out big time lol!

I am a hairdresser and I do a lot of updos for Mother-In-Law…it will obviously be more casual than yours and I think if she wants to have an updo, just let her.
