Does anyone find they get these cramps too when they cough or something that makes that area contract? I’ve noticed it a few times – like I coughed today and then got this painful, but fleeting cramp.

@dynamic_duo:  Yeah I’ve noticed exactly that this last few days… it’s like a kind of sharp pull but doesn’t last long. I think you’re a couple of days ahead of me so we’re around the same time : )

I’m glad this topic was brought up. I feel the SAME way and if I didn’t see all the BFPs myself, I’d swear AF was on the way.

@jholler25:  I expereinced crampy like lower ab pain during weeks 5-7.  I’m in week 8 now.  I still have a few crampy pains but I’m starting to realize that some of this is caused by gas and bloating.  Ugg.  It is my understanding the cramp feelings are the uterus stretching etc.  Wish you the best on this pregnancy

@dynamic_duo:  Yep I sometimes get a sharp pain.  And I’ve had a laugh or two that caused one.

@vintage2010:  Me too I’ve gotten it from laughing. And also say after I’ve been sitting for a while so my abdomen is bent, then when I stand up and stretch I’ll get a sharp one sometimes

Ditto to PPs. Completely normal. And all things considered, perfectly normal and acceptable to be paranoid. I’m sure my midwife knows me as the “I’m sure this is normal, but…?” girl.

I still feel some pulling/crampy-like feelings, and have been consistenly reassured that it’s just my uterus stretching and growing. She told us to call if there was cramping + any of the following: bleeding, lower back pain, a great increase in watery vaginal discharge (i.e as if your water were breaking), fever, chills, faintness, or nausea and vomiting (past normal first trimester morning sickness), or pain and/or burning when you pee. Otherwise, if it gets uncomfortably painful to take a Tylenol and/or a warm bath.

@dynamic_duo:  Definitely get sharp pains but fleeting cramps when I cough, bend in a certain way, laugh too hard, or, more often than not, sneeze.

I also experienced cramps, and that’s why I thought something was up, which lead to take a test. I’m also a midwfiery grad student, and this seems to be common in most pregnancies. Of course, if you experience bleeding, you need to consider going to the doctor. What you’re experiencing sounds very typical.
