This is really just a Public Service Announcement…
So I randomly grew an annoying milia about a month or so ago on my cheek and I was hoping it’d just go away or that I could ignore it. Well, I was wrong. It didn’t go away and it only seemed to get bigger and more noticeable (although my fiance told me it wasn’t that noticeable and he only noticed it because he looks at me all the time, haha). So, 9 days before my wedding I decided to be a little crazy and get it removed by an aesthetician at a dermatologist’s office.
I was super nervous about any scarring or scabbing after the removal, but the aesthetician assured me it would be very minimal “recovery” time. Anyway, I went in feeling really nervous… not knowing if it would hurt, what exactly she was going to do, and afraid I’d have a huge open wound on my face (exaggeration, much?). I layed down on the bed and within 3 minutes, she was done! Just a small prick (barely felt it!), a little bit of squeezing, and she had it out. She put some antibacterial cream on the pin sized hole left on my cheek and sent me on my way.
So far, I can barely tell I had it removed as it’s only slightly red right where the prick was. I have total faith that it will be back to my normal skin by my wedding next Friday!!
Ladies, if you have milia, don’t waste your time on trying at-home remedies to get them to go away – just go to the dermatologist or an aesthetician for a quick and easy procedure!!!
