@kaylaf09:  Just saw your post! Luckily, Fiance only has 1.5 yrs left of his contract and they usually deploy for a year, so hopefully I won’t be putting up with any deployments! He’s thinking about extending his contract though and going active.

Hi all. USAF wife! We’ve known each other for close to 3 years [it will be three years this 4th of July] and got married in Florida at the courthouse on 4-11-12!

He is currently stationed in Ellsworth South Dakota and I live in San Antonio, Texas.

Our entire relationship has been long distance and it stinks! Lol

We are getting ready for his second deployment this summer. Another six months of him gone overseas, but when he gets back we will be having our ‘renewal of vows’ and reception with friends and family and THEN i can finally move in with my DH! LOL

Glad to have found this board and Best of Luck to everyone! Laughing

@AubByAub:  LOL. No worries. ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s a good conversation to have! Looks like everyone’s playing! @zippylef:  Usually it is. I’ve seen it on both sides. It’s just frustrating because non mil spouses see the stereotype and you have to fight against it way too often.

 @maureen9004:  SHORE DUTY! Yay!

@globalmargaret:  Aww. Congrats! What state are you planning the wedding?

@KT_Williams:  Family planning with a mil spouse is tough! We’ll have an 8 month old when he gets out–I can’t imagine me finding a new job in a new place in 8 months because… we’ll I’m busy planning for baby now, and I don’t want to have to job search AGAIN.    And I have so many friends who had the baby before and then dad didn’t get to meet baby for way too long. So sad.

@zombiemonster:  Cool, congrats and good luck!

@paigers91:  Eh, I don’t feel like a “real” mil wife because we live off base. It’s whatever you make of it.

LOL –phone dependancy. Last time Darling Husband was in Afghanistan, he could call maybe once every one to three weeks–I slept with my phone *just in case*  I’d answer any call. I left my phone in my hand (on vibrate) to watch movies. That phone was like my new best friend!

@Future Mrs Fox:  How’s the wedding planning going? Congrats and best wishes!

@Vegasvixen:  Italy and Spain? TOTALLY worth it!

@78science:  Love will do that! Oh, silly love, and what we’ll do for it. ๐Ÿ™‚

@OrigamiLove:  Welcome. We’re in Virginia. PM me if you have any questions or are moving out here.

@bumblepup:  Planning while deployed via skype! You are a superstar.

@Miss Fish:  Good luck–hope you get stationed somewhere you like.

@nyscpa2be:  Sweet story. ๐Ÿ™‚

@bsig:  Eeee! Enjoy the planning. We did something similar, and our wedding was such a blessing–being able to see family after way too long apart.

@MrsTahoe:  Oh, I miss Hawaii! We were there last year.

@clarakaboom:  Yay, congrats!! And I saw on the other thread you didn;t post a picture because you’re the one in the military–you still should.

@lululilly:   @the_future_mrs:  @basia:  Welcome!

@cari2655:  Long distance does stink!

Just thought I’d share my background with the military boards!

I’m a US Army Veteran…I was a Staff Sergeant and in for 8 years.  I deployed to Iraq for OIF III in 2004-2005.

My Fiance is NOT military.  We met when I was in the last two years of my contract and after I had my daughter, so I was inactive.  Therefore, he never really got to see the military side of me.  The memories and experiences I often try to share with him don’t translate well.  I think it’s very painful for him to think of me having been in such dangerous situations.  I was deployed to Tikrit, Sadaam’s hometown, and things we still a bit rough back then.  We worked as gate security for our tiny base and had run-ins with the locals quite often.

I’m a ARNG wife, hubby is currently deployed ๐Ÿ™ i miss him so much. We were engaged in March 2011 and in April he got his orders to deploy in August so July 10th after our church service we asked our pastor to marry us, so we would legally be married before he deployed. It was just the pastor, us and two church workers as our witness.

Our families weren’t too happy with this (in their eyes we aren’t married) so we have deciced to have a bigger ceremony and a reception and everything in between in July of 2012. Currently planning that as we speak while waiting for him to come home in August.

USMC fiance, weve been together since the summer before my senior year. w’eve been engaged for 2 years already it’ll be three before we get married because i wanted to finish undergraduate before we tie the knot! but i get to go down monthly except of course when he deploys, our wedding date is riding on when his second deployment will end,

honestly i dont get why people cheat on deployments my fiance was amazing when he could skype and call he did, Im corny i wrote him a physical letter or card and an email everyday so when he would come back from missions he would have mail and of course tons of care packages!best of luck to everyone!

Fiance is a LtCmdr in the USN, planning is going well as long as I don’t throttle my mother. We just got our orders to a new duty station in VA! Easy move! Woo-hoo!

We met in May of 2011 and got engaged on New Years Eve of 11, he’s my match in every way and we have THE best time together. I’m excited about being a Navy wife, though nervous about making mistakes.

Just an FYI: Ladies please follow OPSEC rules, it’s best if you don’t post too much about what You or your guys do, where they are, etc., it keeps everyone safe and coming home.

Both my fiance and I are in the Marine Corps. I’m stationed in Camp Lejeune, NC while he is stationed in Camp Pendleton, CA. He proposed to me June 1, 2012. Our wedding is planned for May 11, 2013 in Mississippi, which is where I am from. I’m just so glad I met someone whose goofiness matches mine lol. He’s my best friend : )
