Welcome to the Hive!

Have you considered getting married at a JOP and still having a ceremony in October?  Is that possible with his leave?  My Darling Husband (we are not military) did that, also my brother (who is in the military) did that also.  It allowed her to have the status of wife while still getting the wedding she deserved.

If you need the legal status just get married on the civil side. Have him start coordinating with his new command about whether or not he’ll be able to take leave for your original wedding date. Another option is to move up your date to his rotation time, so that he is afforded the time off.

If you have the funds to do it, I would do the JOP prior or if being married doesn’t matter in order for you to go with him, just come back stateside in October and do the wedding. You should have most of the planning done already.

My husband and I married last year March before he PCSd to Korea and everything worked out fine.
