Have you thought about painting the bride’s blonde hair? That would be an easy fix 🙂

or you could purchase 2 separate figurines:

Marine groom: http://stressawaybridal.weddingstar.com/product/military-groom-in-us-army-dress-uniform-figurine

and choose bride: http://www.weddingaccessories.net/fashionable-bride-mix-and-match-cake-topper-943

Edit:

Just realized the above is army 🙁

I did find this one though 🙂 http://www.jwcaketops.com/wedfigurines/Occupationsuniforms/marinethreshold.htm

I’m not sure if you’re looking for something like this, but I made these for my FSIL’s wedding since the only one’s she seemed to find were $150 and up.  Maybe you could do something like this?

You could go the DIY route.

I made our (but ours we’re playing “Mega Bubble” so it’s a little non traditional).

I used polymer clay.

Honestly, I’m a super amateur, but if you want handmade for under $50… that’s not much $ for someone else to make it.

Yeah, his hair is too long, and my face is wrinkly… but… you know… amateur work.

I’m sure you can get at least that good if you DIY. For the ribbons, I rolled out little flat pieces and used an exacto knife to cut the stripes and line them up. That part was the hardest part!

You can always find someone who does Sand Blasting. You can get any image including a pic you have to be etched into glass. Thats what we ended up doing for ours!

We’ve had the same problem finding a really nice military cake topper that wasn’t so expensive! This was the best one I found and plan on using. You can change hair, dress styles, and customize their uniform. THe link takes you to the army one but it gives you an idea and you can click back to the other military.
