We are not having a full blown military wedding but my Fiance is in the Army Reserves and we would like to do a lot to incorporate the military in our wedding. Him and 4 of his groomsmen will be in their uniforms. We would like to do the arch of sabers and also do a donation to support the troops as our party favor. We could also cut the cake with the saber and I am going to have a military garter. Maybe incorporate the military into the boutineers that the non-uniformed groomsmen will wear….
Any other ideas???

My fiance is a marine and the only military detail I really really want in the wedding is the CAKE TOPPER! My cake topper is going to be my groom in his uniform and me in a visor holding a calculator (I’m going for my CPA lol). Happy planning!

I love when I see a remembrance table at military weddings. They bring a proud tear to my eye everytime I see one.
The are usually alittle more formal than this one, but you get the idea.

I am wearing an army garter, our cake topper is a stacy doll (brunette barbie) and a GI joe. I am trying to convince him to wear his uniform (along with his two brothers who are also army)… I am having a red white and blue ribbon around my boquet with one of my grandfathers (deceased) military medals and the shell from the gun salute at his funeral. This is more memorial to him except for the ribbon (I’m also having jewlery from both of my grandmothers, one deceased and one unable to make it). I am also placing a red, white and blue poppy in my boquet even though the rest is all sunflowers! I am also using poppys for my grandfather’s boutiner (he is retired navy!).
I have also made it very clear I want a flag at both the ceremony and reception. I am also having a memorial table to deceased and military. I am also leaving an empty seat in honor of those missing from the day. I also want a small traditional military prayer read at the ceremony. Lastly, our first dance will be “Dear God” by Avenged Sevenfold which is often said to be a song honoring the military (they have several but this is the best for a slow dance).
I really want the sabor arch and to cut the cake with one but he doesn’t have one and the wedding will be in my hometown, away from his duty station.
