Hi Bees,
I plan on having 3 pieces of milk glass with various floral arrangements as my centerpieces. My table linens are white. Do you think I should get something like a colored table runner or a piece of colored fabric to set them on? Otherwise, it will be the white vases on white table cloth. Would that look okay? What it I put a mirror tile down? I just don’t want it to look stark. Ideas?
TIA!

I think it’d look fine! I’m gonna have white linens, and we’re using white vases as part of our centerpiece!

Do you by chance have a picture of it? It’s hard to visualize it.

I think the white on white would look fine as long as you don’t have white flowers as well. That might be a little much.

I think that would be fine. If you’re using flowers as centerpieces, those will bring some color into the scheme of things. It also might look kind of intentional, like you’re making everything monocromatic to draw attention to the flowers. Also, your escort cards and menus could be another way to introduce color.
Are your napkins white too? How about plates?
I think if there’s color and warmth in the room as a whole, details like the vases and linens being white won’t really be that important.

I think if your inspiration is something similar to this, I think it’s quite beautiful. When choosing one color scheme, it becomes just as visually appealing. Plus, like another poster mentioned, the flowers will be your POP of color.

Thanks, bees. Here’s a pic that is pretty close to what I want to do with the flowers and vases. My flower colors would be a little different though–purples, pinks, peaches, but no white flowers.

Also the napkins and plates will be white as well. But a colored menu will be tucked into the napkin!

I think it’s going to look BEAUTIFUL! Very spring like. And again, it just makes your florals the focal point. And it just adds that clean and fresh look, which I really love.

Thanks so much!!! You’ve all made some really great points! I do want my flowers to be the focal point of the tables and really pop, so I think I’m going to do the white vases on white linens. Yay! Now I don’t need to worry about shopping for fabric–one less thing to do!

I am doing the same thing…3 milk glass vases with simple blooms. I am having white linens with alternating yellow and gray runners. I think it’s ok to use white on white…keeps it very cohesive and soooo pretty! Great inspiration pics!

I tried to post this earlier today from work but couldn’t get the picture to load.
I think white on white will work well(how’s that for alliteration?)
Here is a pic taking it a step further and using white flowers.

If you don’t like the white on white look our venue offered to put a napkin in the center of the table under the centerpeice if we wanted. Just an idea if you want a punch of color.
