Am I the only one who is kinda icked out by that new pad (I think it’s pads) ad about the ruined panties from “period mishaps”? It totally grosses me out. I’m not one of those weirdos that thinks my period is a disgusting taboo (I use Softcups and share that shit with the world. Y’all, it’s awesome not to have to use a tampon!) But, yeh, I don’t know. I find it to be almost TOO much information? Eh. Is it just me?
And, uh, I tried to find a link, but it is no where to be found? So maybe I’m going to look like a total weirdo and no one is going to have a clue what I’m talking about…

Peffy: Yep. you’re a total weirdo 🙂
I haven’t seen it. If there are related images, I think that’s too much. Otherwise, I think I would be ok with it, although tough to say for sure.

Can’t be any worse than condom commercials, sometimes those get downright creepy.

Peffy: I think they do it because pretty much every woman can relate…but I didn’t appreciate my Fiance coming to the realization that women ruining their panties with menstration is THAT common…

I haven’t seen it, but I’ve seen two different videos linked in my news feed on facebook about “Best period commercial ever”… is this a new fad or something?

Peffy: I thought it was unnecessary too! You aren’t alone lol. Pad/tampon commercials are getting more and more “interesting”. The one where the woman is climbing over the rope wall and the camera basically zooms-in to her crotch is a little weird also lol.

Peffy: I think the most awkward one is the sams in my pants one. It wouldn’t have been so bad if the commercial implied that the gals in it knew each other beforehand, but the one lady is just creepily talking to the other lady about having sams in her pants and that lady is giving her a “why the fuck are you tell me this?” look, almost like she’s uncomfortable.

StoriaCrissosa: I can’t seem to find it anywhere. It’s weird. I googled it a few times, but nothing came up. It’s the Kotex U commercial. Really strange.
I now feel not so weird. I don’t want the world knowing that undies ARE ruined. Just..ew.

It completely freaks my Fiance out every time he sees it. I know we have all been there and those panties are clean, but that commercial grosses me out, too.
Here’s the link to the commercial for those who are curious.

Haha I think it’s funny. Let’s be honest – all pads are advertised to prevent leakage. What a waste of undies being thrown out the window though. A splash of hydrogen peroxide always does the trick for me!

I think it’s rather tame by my local standards (Australia). We’ve got one at the moment which says it’s safe to wear white pants now…

I’m fine with it. I keep thinking of this passage in Tina Fey’s book where she talks about how until puberty, she thought her period would be a blue liquid because of pad commercials.
I’m okay with media telling it like it is.
