Hey Ladies!
I am getting married in Milwaukee on 8/25/12 and need some help with vendors.
I have my venue and photographer but unfortunately that’s all.
Inexpensive DJs or Florist ideas?
Thanks!!

@TheBakerChick:
I am using Double Platinum DJ’s, except you are getting married in peak season and they were really affordable for us because we are having a March wedding and they have great offseason rates, but I would still check them out.
For florist I am using Laurel Flannery from Bloom floral, I thought her prices were really good and I love her esthetic.

I’m using Laurel Flannery too! I really loved what she came up with and I think she really get my vision!
We ended up going with Elite Signature DJs. They seemed good and the price was very affordable for us.
Thanka for the help! 🙂

I am using Elite Signature DJs as well. Very reasonable rates! 🙂
Alfa Flowers is my florist.
I am currently having photographer regrets. Ugh! All I can do is keep a open mind and hope for the best.
What photographer are you ladies having?

- Wedding: September 2011 - Milwaukee, WI
I got married in September 2011 and used Double Platinum. I LOVE Bill, the owner, and can say he did a wonderful job and the prices were very fair compared to other offers. My wedding was a Friday and the costs were in the $700-800 range and included free up lighting. Highly recommended.
Also highly recommended for florists is Waukesha Floral. Loved, loved this vendor. I worked with about 4 florists before choosing Waukesha Floral. They were priced the best and were more willing to work with my budget and provide really good alternatives if I came up with an idea that was too expensive or make suggetions that make sense with my theme. They did an amazing job!!
These two were definitely in my favorite vendor list (which was small, believe me!! LOL) With so many things that can go wrong, I felt super comfortable the whole time that these two would do well and that relived a lot of stress!
Good luck!!!

I had Magnum Entertainment out of Milwaukee DJ my wedding. They were great and only cost $450 for 6 hours.

I just thought I’d respond again to this thread for any other Milwaukee brides
I am pretty jazzed about all of our vendors. So far:
Floral: Laurel Flannery from Bloom. She is gonna be outstanding. She is so much more than just a florist- she is giving so many amazing rustic table decorations and her husband is building a gorgeous archway that I’m gonng use for my ceremony. And she is working within my budget!
Photog: Valo Photography. So excited to work with these guys. Check out their site- their amazing work speaks for itself. They have been featured numerous times on Style Me Pretty which is where I first found them.
Catering: Lee John’s- our tasting was amazing. I’m glad I got to try everything since I may be too busy day of. I’m thrilled with what we chose- the food will be amazing. We’re also getting cheesecake lollipops and Lemon tarts for our dessert bar.
Cake: The rest of our desserts are coming from Milwaukee Cupcakes- as well as a cutting cake. Love.
DJ- Elite Signature DJs. Great deal and they seem to be really classy and great.
Woohoo!!!

Now that you’ve had your weddings, what did you ladies think about Double Platinum?

Honestly- I wasn’t happy with Elite Signature DJs. We had Rob and he really wasn’t great. Though he was friendly as can be- he had no instincts, playeed all the slow songs in a row, never overlapped songs making them way too long- and was overall disappointing….You get what you pay for. MY other vendors were outstanding!

Ladies, I recently booked my DJ with Elite Signature DJ’s. I had done lots of research and just seemed to like them the best. After booking, I continued doing research and have come across some not so good reviews. I’m torn, they have reasonable prices but I’m wary of the reviews I have seen.
Those of you who have used Elite Signature DJ’s, what is your advice? Do I cancel or keep them??
Please help!!!

I had a really really bad experience. We got Dj Rob who they told me was the best and he was really bad- self promoting himself during the reception on the microphone and coming down to the dance floor to bug me several times asking what he should play. The worst vendor we had by far.

ladymeathead: We haven’t married yet, and we’re doing things pretty low scale. However, I would definitely recommend Simma’s for your cake. If you’ve never been, ALL their stuff is delicious, and their wedding cake is too!
