I’ve never seen that!

But that would be super cute.  I think the cost would be far higher than what you are paying for your cake as the amount of work involved with those is quite high.

If the budget is a concern maybe you could do an embellished cupcake?

Those are so cute, but I have no idea what they cost. I bet a good $$$ considering the amt of time it must take.

@NYE Gal: cupcake is a nice alternative

We went to a wedding with mini cakes. They weren’t the favor, but they did give us boxes to take them home. They were soooo yummy, and it was great to have the leftovers.

@Ctinaditty:  Those would work perfectly!  I know there are some cake and frosting recipes that freeze really nicely.  I’m not sure how many cakes you would need to make but I don’t think that the job would be a good one for the week of the wedding.

@kitzy: My friend who did mini cakes said that they were looking at cupcakes too, and mini cakes were less expensive then the cupcakes.

@artbee:  What!!!  I just talked to someone who makes cakes and that the mini cakes that are shown in the pictures would be way more money.  I guess covering them with fondant and doing all the detail work would be a lot more than cupcakes.  I guess it’s worth looking around.
