Yes of course it's totally normal!

No way, I love it just as it is!

Sometimes, but there's nothing to worry about. It's the ring I love/fell in love with!

I also have a half-carat in a halo (though mine is princess) and sometimes when I see a lot of much larger rings I will go “Hmm…mine does look a bit small. But look how freaking gorgeous it is!” And it’s all better. πŸ™‚

We all have our own tastes. I doubt you’d even think about it as much if you didn’t see so many on here. There’s a high concentration of rings on wedding websites. Lol

@Shel2523: Oh thank you πŸ™‚ I’m rather in love with it. Lol.

Don’t worry. Once it’s on your finger I highly doubt you’ll be worried about the size of the stone. πŸ™‚

When the mister and I went ring shopping, I was actually horrified by how the larger carot rings looked on my finger. It just looked so gaudy on my hand! And it was that reason that we figured we wouldn’t go any larger than 1 carot, maybe 1.5, but even that’s kind of pushing it. So don’t worry about the actual size, just focus on how it looks on your finger since that’s how everyone else will see it πŸ™‚

@tea: I was very much the same way. I tried on a 1.5 at the first shop we went to and honestly it seemed too big for my finger. I just didn’t like the proportions on my finger.  Stick with what you know looks good on you! πŸ™‚

My stone size is TINY! I think it’s like 0.17 carat size. But I was more concerned about the cut and clarity, and I wanted platinum as it is tougher than gold.

I want my ring to last my lifetime so I picked the metal and the sparkle of the ring over the size.

Besides.. a 0.5 carat diamond swamped my fingers, and I didn’t want to knock it all the time! So never double guess your ring choice – it is the ones we fell in love with, just like our SOs!

Other peoples SOs, while they might be nice and treat their GFs like princesses, I am never envious or wished I was with them instead? Haha!

I know what you mean.  When I was thinking about stone size, I was afraid the .5 would be too small looking too, but I really didn’t feel comfortable with my Fiance paying more than what it would cost.  I actually ended up chosing a .4 carat ring and I love the size of it!  I have a 5.5 ring size, so I imagine the .5 carat on a 6 size finger would be similar to mine.  Plus, the halo will make it look bigger!

    For fun/comparison, I’ll post mine:

I think once you actually have it on your finger and can start wedding-related things, you won’t even think about size. πŸ™‚ Promise!

Yeah I had this feeling a bit with mine (half carat solitaire) but once you get used to wearing it it sort of becomes a part of you πŸ™‚ Also when you think that you will presumably add a wedding bacd next to it once your married that adds size to it. Enjoy!
