Darn, I was going to say Bar Harbor, Maine, haha! …Hmm, how about NYC or Vermont? Maybe Cape Cod?

Quebec City is amazing…you’ll feel like you’re much further away than Canada. I think the culture is more Quebecoise than that in Montreal. I spent a summer there in college and looooved it!!! There’s also Western MA…there are some beautiful resorts out there!

I agree with Newport RI and Quebec/Montreal.  The Berkshires in Western MA would also be a nice place to get away to for a few days!

If you are into wine at all, I knew someone who did the Finger Lakes (NY) wine trail, and loved it. It’s a little further than some of the locations already mentioned, but definitely driveable from MA/ME in a day.

I love both Portland, Maine and Acadia National Park a little farther north in Maine. Both are great options! I also really love Montreal and New York City! Cape Cod/Martha’s Vineyard/Nantucket book up like a year in advance, so that’s probably not a great option.

Have you thought about anywhere in New Hampshire? There are a lot of great placces theres. You can either do the Mountain a little farther north or Weirs Beach is wonderful. Boston is a great place to stay as well. You can go to places like Quincy Markey and Fanuel Hall. It will probably be really hard to find a place in the cape this last minute ( although you have some time, cape places book up FAST!!!) Another thing you could try is by me in Plymouth, MA. The waterfront area is awesome during the summer. Lots of restaurants, shops, bars, ect. Great places to eat and the beach is right there! always stuff going on.

I vote staying in a bed and breakfast in Jamestown, Rhode Island.  It’s a small town and it’s relaxing but it’s within driving distance to Newport and Providence without the price of staying in either of those.

Jamestown is nice and quaint as are other small coastal towns in RI (Wickford, Matunuck, Narragansett (Bonnet Shores)) you could rent a house on the beach in RI for a week and enjoy the beach as well as the beach towns. You can easily go to Newport for the day and there is always something going onin Newport in the summer and lots of great restaurants. Block Island is another day trip or a potential mini moon destination but, like Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard and Newport, it will be more expensive to stay on the island. You could also do Cape Cod, I know people say it books up fast but there are lots of cute towns to choose from so I am sure you could find something. Maybe look into renting a house for a week instead of a hotel as there are a lot of nice coastal towns in New England. If you are more the outdoorsey type, consider the White Mountains in New Husband.
