@Reeniero:  poconos is a great choice. Otherwise you could go to Niagra falls, toronto or Quebec. All beautiful places.

What about a B&B in the New Hope area ?  If not, I highly suggest the Bushkill Falls/Shawnee Mountain area of the Poconos.  My Fiance and I went mid October and it was BEAUTIFUL !!  We found a place on VRBO.com that was a townhouse on Shawnee Mountain, hot tub, fireplace, stocked kitchen… fantastic !  We then hiked the falls and it was an experience that I will never forget.  Just gorgeous.  I believe I still have the listing if interested, message me and I will be happy to share with you.

DC!  I’m biased, but it’s an amazing city!

We spent a long weekend in Vermont last year and it was so relaxing and romantic. We stayed in a suite at the Dorset Inn (in Dorset, Vt), which was fabulous! Perfect location to visit quaint little towns and shops. Really good restaurants in the area too. It would be a little less than a 6 hour drive for you from Philly.

If you’re willing to go further south, DC and Virginia would be a lovely trip.  Wineries, bed & breakfasts, and museums.

@Reeniero:  I know you didn’t mean anything by it, but the Jersey shore isn’t all fist pumps and douchebags. There are some really nice places to be! Wildwood is nice and I hear Cape May is too.

I would probably go to Ocean City Maryland if you’re still not about the shore. I’ve also been to Virginia’s beaches (Norfolk) and it’s GORGEOUS. Virginia in general is a wonderful place to be. 🙂

@Reeniero:  Ohhh okay. I just know people are like hiiiiissss booo Jersey Shore! I think that damn show ruined the view of the shore. I get it now, and don’t blame him for not really wanting to be somewhere he’s seen before.

It really all depends on what you want to do. Is simple and relaxing sightseeing or literally laying out in a backyard with a mojito? (Both sound great. Ahhh.)

Bushkill Falls is nice, but we couldn’t find anything else to do besides hike the waterfall trail and go in the hot tub. I just found the Crystal Springs Resort in the NJ mountains, 2.5 hrs from Philly. They have 7 indoor pools so you can still swim in october, swim up bars, many nice restaurants, 7 golf courses, a zipline, 2 spas. The photos of the resort in the fall were gorgeous. We just reserved 6 nights for our honeymoon this summer!

@charmedbee:  I would agree. New Hope B&B or Poconos. Or what about NYC?!

@phillybride61513:  There is so much to do in the area.  Just pick up one of the local touristy maps and they will guide you.  We enjoyed the time of hiking, cooking, hot tubbing etc. and just being with each other.  We just went off and explored on our own also. Not sure about NYC as I have never vacationed there.
