Sorry to do this but I had to vent some where. I’ve ran out of invitations. We invited about 60 people which equaled 27 families (or couples) so 60 total with mom, dad, kids being one family. So I ordered and beautifully hand crafted 50 invitations WAY back in June and mailed them all out in August with a kindly reply by date of September 20th. Between the day I sent them out in August and today (9/12/14) I’ve ran out of invitations. Let it be known that I’ve been engaged since October of last year and my parents have had AMPLE time to make a list of people as I’ve asked them to numerous times as well my Fiance who I told to do this and reminded all the time a long time ago. If all of this has been done then why am I 1. Out of invitations all 50 were used and 2. Why are my parents and my Fiance telling me they still need more? Where were these (oh so important friends and collegues) when I asked for names and addresses, or when I asked “hey babe are there any other people you want to invite?” or asked my mother “are you sure that’s all?” and she replied “this is just going to be a small little gathering, nothing big”. *Sigh* family lol Thanks for letting me get that off my chest as I study for exams.

By the way now I have to figure out what to do about these 2-5 extra guests and invites. Even though it’s what 22 days until the wedding and 8 days for RSVPs? Really!

I hope you saved one for a details picture.

I feel your frustration. If I were you I would send an electronic invite. That’s what I did for people who came later & all went well. But the other thing is that I’m just not bothered by etiquette and rules.

Thanks so much I don’t really know the people that need invites they are people my parents work with and my FI’s co-workers I think I’ll just print up a few and give them those 21 days to go and it’s what ever now lol

My parents and DH’s parents each just HAD to invite one more couple each after I ran out of invitations. I told them their guests could certainly come (what is 4 more people?) but they would have to figure it out themselves- xerox? I still don’t know what happened- but the extra guests did come! I’m sure they think I’m tacky as hell!

lovelymuse: my friend just emailed a copy of her invitations to her co-workers and requested rsvps by email, haha, maybe your Fiance can do that. Michael’s also has some nice print your own invitations for like $30.
i feel your pain, I just know my mom is going to pull the same stuff when it’s time for us to send our invites. Good luck!
