Look into Sanibel/Captiva.

I have a real soft spot for St Augustine, though. As a fellow Floridian, I still love to take mini vacations there!

We went to Crystal River FL for our minimoon. We swam with manatees and hiked and hung out at the beach and it was wonderful! We looked into key west and sannibel but they were more expensive and we can always go to those places another time. The manatees won’t always be there however so we were glad to go and see them in person.

misstomrsgslp :  We were gifted a trip to Disney for our honeymoon and I felt the same way at first, but ended up having so much fun with my husband. We stayed in the Animal Kingdom Lodge, which was perfect for us because we are big time animal lovers. It felt more adult at night when we went to Disney Springs for dinner and drinks, but we still had fun in the parks. Who doesn’t love eating (and drinking) their way around Epcot? We did go to Bermuda from there though. It seems like you’d have lots of good options already being in FL. Good luck!

I love Puerto Rico and it’s not very expensive. Luquillo Beach was awesome.

How long will you be away? I love Savannah, so that’s my vote! Have you been?

It’s a little further than you might like to go but Charleston SC is awesome! And not much further than Savannah!

I live in the Tampa area too. I would say St Augustine, Savannah, Gatlinburg…you could probably rent a cabin in Gatlinburg for around $150 a night on airbnb. If I were you, I think I would want to go somewhere a little further/more special than Orlando or even the Weeki Wachee/Crystal River area, just because we can do day trips to those places any day from here.

Swimming with the manatees in Crystal River is amazing. So is a snorkel down Rainbow River in the same area.
