Right after getting married this summer, I am starting a new job in the Minneapolis area. I will be living in Plymouth and commuting to West Saint Paul.
Does anyone have any idea of what kind of commute time to expect? I am interested in hearing about rush hour commutes and off-hours commutes (my job is fairly flexible).

I live in West Saint Paul!
There are a couple different routes you can take; it kind of depends where on Plymouth/where in WSP but most common is 394/94 across the cities. Definitely expect heavy traffic if you’re going during rush hour, especially since there is a LOT of construction on 94 right now between Minneapolis and Saint Paul (and will be throughout the summer).
You could also try taking 169 to 62–it’s slightly farther but traffic might be better? I don’t really go that route much during rush hour though so I can’t say for sure. Regardless of which way you go, if you can wait and leave later (ie 8:30/9 am) or go in early (like 6 am) that will drastically help your commute; same with the evening rush hour. “Normal” (i.e. non-rush hour) drive time would probably be about 35 minutes; with traffic I would expect that to double.
I grew up in Saint Paul and have lived in a couple different areas of the Twin Cities over the past few years, so definitely let me know if you have other questions!

62 is AWFUL. and so 100. and 169 is awful with accidents. and 94 is THE WORST with construction. and none of that is what you wanted to hear, lol! id give a good hour and try making the drive some afternoon before you start the job. im in columbia heights now but went to college in stpaul and my aunt lived in west stpaul and weve been out to plymouth for the gym + parade of homes so i know the areas well but the nice thing is that on your way home traffic should be a little better because youll be going into the city as everyone else is going out!
yay for MN bees!
