I seriously LOVE Mint!  It’s amazing!  I’d suggest just spending time on there looking around to get to know it.  I’ve never had a security issue and I trust them not to have one.  One of my favorite features is that they send me e-mails when I exceed the budgets I set or when my bills are due.

One thing to make sure you do is set the category on your spending.  For instance, our wedding ring payments were showing up as clothing purchases and I would see this big percentage spent on clothing each month and wonder what the heck was going on.  You can go in to your bank account spot and select categories for each of your past purchases and it will work to sort incoming ones to match.

I love it, too!  Until I saw that you have to enter your bank user ID and password.  I haven’t done it because of that.  I am worried, too.  Hopefully more bees will chime in with their good experiences to ease our minds…

I’ve been using it. I’m definitely a fan =]. I love that i can break up my savings into separate categories and it automatically tells me what i spend out of my debit card each month. it shows it in the form of graphs which makes it very visual. I like it.

I’ve been using it for a few years now and I love it.  I’ve never had any security issues, nor have I heard of anyone else having security issues.

I’ve been using it for 2 years now and have all of SO’s and my accounts attached to it. I have never felt like my information wasn’t secure. I love the way you can break things down and see truly how much money your spending. It is a great tool.

Oh my gosh. MINT saved my financial life. At first it was just to see where I can cut my expenses, but then it was to help me save. It has the ‘goal’ section where you can have ‘Save a House’ or ‘Retire’, and it sends you reminders each month of how far behind/on track you are with your goal.

Fiance and I are using it to save a house. So far it’s really helped us keep on track with our savings for a down payment 🙂

I love mint.com!  I’ve used it for about a year, and I can’t wait to see my yearly report on my spending habits.  I’m sure it will be an eye opener! I was really horrible with money thinking a dollar here and a dollar there didn’t amount to much, until I ran the #’s at 6mths and I was amazed at how i spend!!  I’ve had no security issues so far and would definitely recommend it.

I’m so glad you guys have had positive experiences!  Like the OP, I was nervous to sign up.  I was really hesitant since you have to hand over your bank username/password.  Maybe I’ll give it a shot, I’d love to more closely monitor our spending habits.

I’m just setting up my account now and I am a little confused how the “goal” section works on mint.com? For example, if I want to save $100 a month for home renovations does Mint actually move that money in my bank account for me?
