Fiance and I use it. It’s GREAT for tracking spending in different categories and the graphs are super helpful for those of use that aren’t fantastic with numbers. It tracks all of my accounts- checking, credit, loans, even my 401k. It’s great and for the super cheap price of FREE, there’s no reason not to give it a shot.

I actually just downloaded the app for my new iPad, but haven’t really started using is.  I was trying to figure out how to create budgets which is seems like you can do but I couldn’t figure it out.

I’ve heard good things about it so I’m hoping it’s a good tool.

I love it! There are a few glitches: it thinks my student line of credit is credit card debt, and the budgetting for occasional expenses ($100 on X every two months) is hard to figure out, but other than that I have no complaints 🙂

SO and I use it and we love it! It really helps us stay on budget, especially with things we tend to go overbosrd on (eating out!). It also breaks down what you spend on each month and it gives you great perspective where your money goes.

@LizTheProcrastinator: I have the same issue with my student line of credit as well. Especially scary since we use the billing notification so it’ll say “you have a bill of $6000 due in — days” which was a little freaky at first.

I really like it though and it even helped me catch a couple fraudulen transactions.

I found the best thing for occasional expenses was to give yourself a slightly smaller budget every month with rollover. Ie my hair cut costs about 50 bucks every six weeks so I have atool lover monthly budget of 35 bucks.

I love it but my bank won’t let my use it for my checking/savings acct so it kind of defeats the whole purpose. I have my 401K, credit cards, mortgage on there, so it’s nice to have that all in one place to look at, but it’s really annoying I can’t put any of my banking info on it. I emailed my bank about it, but their answer was like reading Chinese as to why they don’t allow access so I’m kind of bummed about that.

My Fiance and I use mint.com (more accurately, he uses it with our finances… I hate budgeting so I’m handing that responsibility to him).  We love it!  It’s great to keep track of how we spend our money so we’re more conscious about our spending 🙂

I really want to try something like this out, but internet security paranoia gets the best of me.  I dont really want one site to have access to just about every piece of financial data of mine.   I keep a excel sheet for our expenses.  It’s a little bit of a pain in the ass to do it the old fashion manual way, but it’s peace of mind for me.  I just update it every 2 weeks to a month while watching tv or something  .. I know.. I’m crazy…

I didn’t like Mint because it was too fussy, and I wasn’t too keen on linking something to my checking account.

I use budgetsimple.com; it’s free, but totally manual, so you have to be disciplined.  The free version is fine, and gives you clear enough graphs to do a simple money in money out budget, but it’s not great for long term planning. One of the paid versions may be better for that.

I just tried to sign up for this, but I have been having a hard time.  Any Canadians out there who use something similar?

I signed up in late summer and it’s been good to keep track of monthly expenses. My only frustration is I’m trying to save toward several ‘goals’ but they come out of the same account, so I can’t link a separate account to each goal…therefore never really seeing progress toward ‘new car’ or ‘down payment’.
