Hello Bees! I hope you don’t mind me jumping in here. I’m new to this forum and just discovered moissanites! In some pics/videos I have noticed a blue hint… Is it just me or are the enhanced ones/miras so white they’re almost blue?

I don’t have a mira or enhanced moissanite but I do see a slight blue color in my unenhanced moissanite in certain lighting (mostly direct sunlight). Maybe it’s the same for mira? I kind of like it and think the slight color is somewhat of a unique and distinguishing trait of moissanite.

@lumos: Thanks! It’s 1.5 ct unenhanced moissanite, palladium setting, ring size 6.

I just got my mira a week and a half ago and I’ve worn it in every light and I can honestly say there’s no color whatsoever, it hasn’t reflected any sort of yellow, green, or warmness at all. I’ve never seen that blue reflection, but I think that looks super cool! This stone is incredibly white and incredibly beautiful, very clear and sparkly. I’ve had everyone I know oooo-ing and awww-ing over it, and even a person who claimed they “know diamonds” and took a 6 week class before he bought his wife’s said it was gorgeous, haha. I honestly can’t say enough good things about moissanite in general, but the mira is truely white. Smile

@lumos: Thanks for giving me additional information :-). I don’t live in the States and the moissanite is very rare in my country so I doubt I can see one in real life, that’s why it’s amazing to be able to see pics here and read about your experiences. I am considering mira moissanite, but have to investigate a bit more. I don’t know if a local jeweller here would agree to make a ring with moissanite stones and if he/she knows how to work with it. Do you know of any other precautions that needs to be considered by the jeweller? Btw, what was it about the moissanites that you didn’t like at the local jeweller, if you don’t mind me asking?

A blue hint might look cool, but I do prefer pure white, possibly with warmer, creamy tones like I-J color, but I still wan’t the mira version since I absolutely don’t want it to look green or grey.

@noenyu & Natashasauros-Rex: Wonderful rings both of them!

I got my enhanced moissanite from Moisanniteco back in March. This is it in the direct sunlight in Mexico the day after I got it, so it’s pretty bright! It’s a 1.1ct cushion cut. I’ve never seen any blue or green, but there can be a slight yellowish tinge in very low lighting, it just seems slightly warmer than normal.
