Just wondering if anyone had this happen?
I’ve been having miscarriage bleeding for 5 weeks straight, (hadn’t cleared all the tissue and had a few resurges of clotting and bleeding) – and it seemed to finally be tapering off, but then I got menstrual like cramping and new bleeding that looked like a period, could this be a period? I don’t think this is a final ‘push’ of the miscarriage because there’s not the same clotting as before. We want to ttc again as soon as we can.

After my last MC, my doctor told me there would be bleeding, then a period of not bleeding, then I would bleed again. She said to consider the bleeding after the pause as my first “period.” Hope this helps!

I would get checked by your OB to make sure your body has passed everything from the pregnancy. Sometimes the body doesn’t clean out as well as it should and intervention is needed to move things along.

Sounds like a period. Hopefully it will do the job of ending your miscarriage bleeding. If you’re still bleeding in 6 days, or longer than your average period then I would schedule an appointment to check for retention of the products of your pregnancy.

I would get checked out especially if you neve really stopped bleeding.

This happened to me. My OB said it was normal. Cycles have since returned to normal.

Unless you are being monitered and following your HCG down to zero, you really can’t determine if the bleeding is MC related or a new cycle. I recently MC around 6 weeks and bled for over 45 days (alternating between spotting and heavy). My HCG was dropping slowly, although I ovulated before it reached zero. (This was confirmed via ultrasound and charting my temps, plus I got a real period 10 days later). Basically, my HCG came back at zero the same day I started my period.
