I am so sorry you are going through this *Hugs*

I had a D&C on March 4th of this year. It was painless and I went home that day and felt fine. I had a tiny bit of pink spotting for 1 day and that was it.  I chose the D&C because I did not want to lengthen the wait, I wanted to go back to normal and get back to TTC as soon as possible.

Also, they say you are more fertile after a D&C for 2-3 months. It may be true b/c in early May I got my BFP.

Good luck! 🙂

@hotpinkbride:  I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. I found out I had a missed miscarriage at 9w, and I opted for medication. I had to do two rounds of misoprostol, the whole process took about 2 weeks? After that, I had 2 periods right on schedule and got a BFP our first month back TTC. The misoprostol option was best for me because it was not surgical. I did end up in the ER with severe bleeding–I just didn’t realize how much there would be, but ultimately everything was fine.

Best of luck to you. May I ask, did you see a heartbeat when you had the ultrasound measuring 5w5d?

I’m so sorry this is happening to you 🙁

I had a similar situation, on May 9th we found out the baby had stopped developing a few weeks prior, I was supposed to be almost 12 weeks and we had seen the heartbeat at an earlier appointment.

My doctor recommended a medically induced miscarriage, which I did. It was a long, painful, horrible night. I thought it was over, then after a couple of weeks I just started bleeding again. I bled for weeks and ended up needing a d&c on July 2nd. If I had to do it again, I would go straight for the d&c.

Best of luck to you, you are not alone. <3

@hotpinkbride:  I am so very sorry for your loss.

I have not had to make a decision about how to induce miscarriage but I have had to have a D&C for other GYN reasons. I was terrified it was going to be super painful but it ended up being not nearly as painful as I expected. My OB/GYN gave me Tramadol and I had some pain with the cramping. I felt a bit better the next day but still crampy but didn’t need the Tramadol.

I hope you get some sleep tonight. Lean on your husband. Thoughts and prayers for whatever you decide.
