mistylo :  What was the size of it? It’s not normal to have large clots during your period to my knowledge (I could be wrong though)

You could take a pregnancy test today – if it was a pregnancy you should still have some hormones in your system, but get on it ASAP.  Hold your pee for at least 4 hours.

I’ve had a miscarriage and a chemical pregnancy, and both were quite obvious so if it’s your only symptom then I would be inclined to think it’s not.

I think you should go to the doctor and get checked out anyway.  It may be a miscarriage, or it may be that your implant is causing trouble.

mistylo :  I don’t think you’ve had a miscarriage. What you passed looks very much like what I’ve passed during my period. If you’ve just started new birth control in the last 2 weeks I’d say it’s your body just regulating itself with the new birth control. Your periods will likely not be as heavy as before HBC so that can account for the lightness and large clots.

I’d personally still stick with the condoms for another few months just to make sure that your implant is working at keeping you pregnancy free. It will also give you more reassurance that your period is just a period and not a miscarriage.

If you’re still not sure and want reassurance I’d take a pregnancy test ASAP because you might find you have some pregnancy hormones floating around in your system that may still show up on a test.

I think the other two are right about taking a test ASAP if you think that’s a possibility. I personally think it just looks like clots. It’s hard to tell size based on a picture and I don’t know what your normal is but I’ve definitely had similar. Almost every time I get a period the first few days consist of several clumps. And as far as cramping goes I’ve found that mine can vary. Most of the time my back just hurts a little but for some reason every once in a while I get a period that’s so painful I can hardly get out of bed.

During my period I have passed large clots like that. When I had my miscarriage at 6 wks 5 days, the “clot” that came out was huge and much darker than any period clot I had had before. I also was bleeding deep red blood unlike period. You should go get checked out if you’re unsure though.

It looks like a normal clot to me- I’ve had these during/around my period before!
