So as embark on this journey of wedding planning, I have come to a standstill with the colour scheme! I love purple and my fiance loves blue. I was thinking to incorporate them both into the wedding (google has some really nice images of the colours together) for the bridal party, we were thinking of having the girls in a nice dark purple dress and the boys in a black tux with the blue tie ( not sure what to do about a vest colour) in the bouquets, the girls will have a mix of blue, purple and white flowers and the guys will have a purple boutonnière.
Has anyone done this or seen it done to shed some light on my idea?? I just don’t want there to be too many colours!

I don’t have any pics or suggestions, I just wanted to say that your color scheme sounds great.

What type of blue are you going for? Navy? Sky?

I think your combination can work, but you should be careful that your colors aren’t too dark. What shade of blue are you thinking? You know, the other thing I’m thinking of is based off of what we did for our wedding – our bridesmaids were in cobalt blue, groomsmen in cobalt blue ties, officiant in apple green tie, and my husband’s tie had both main colors of our wedding in it, and it worked for us! Just a thought. 🙂

@pengoala: we are going with an aqua/turquoise colour and purple/grape. So it will be like a light/dark combination. 🙂

@MrsJules: aqua blue/ turquoise 🙂

I think it works with the turquoise color and a darker purple for sure. Navy and plum, not so much, but I think what you have planned sounds really nice.
