    I voted to let her wear the long one. What is it about the long one she likes? Is it actually the length? Or just a style that doesnt come in the short? If its the latter, is there anyway she could have it shortened to a similar length as the others?

    @SupermansSweetheart:  That’s really good advice.

    @sherrz325:  I am all for mismatched dresses – my BMs are wearing 3 different styles and colors – but at the end of the day, I do think it is weird if 1 out of 4 girls wears a long dress. Do you think maybe the Bridesmaid or Best Man has an insecurity and is uncomfortable wearing a short dress? Did you tell them to all buy dresses at the same store (e.g. David Bridal), and she’s having trouble finding a dress she likes there? Because there are so many similar Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses from all kinds of different places – even Target has Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses these days! You can always ask bees here from some recommendations if you’re looking for alternative dresses in a particular style or color to suggest to that Bridesmaid or Best Man 🙂

    Can she alter it so it matches the length of the other dresses? I did that for a wedding I was in. It cost probably $60. Not cheap but she gets a dress she likes and it willmatch the rest of the bridesmaids like you Want.

    That’s tough, I feel like if it was my Maid/Matron of Honor I would be all for letting her wear long…i did vote yes however, because I let my BM’s pick out their dresses from 6 different styles..I have 4 BMs, they all are wearing different dresses I love the mismatched look. I think supermanssweetheart had a good idea though, if its just the style have her shorten it, but if she just feels more comfortable in long then let her wear it…just depends on your vision! 🙂

    They’re the same color and fabric– I think the vision of unity is covered well enough.  I’d let her wear the long dress.

    I voted to wear the long one. One of my bridesmaids was 37 weeks pregnant and wanted to wear a long dress, I think it looked great and she was more comfortable.

    @sherrz325:  I would let her get the long one and have it hemmed so it is short.

    I voted no.  I think if one Bridesmaid or Best Man gets to look totally different, it should be the Maid/Matron of Honor.

    Ha!  Outside of a little black dress no one will wear their bridesmaid dress again so let that one go.

    I decided to let my bridesmaids pick their own dress but provided guidelines: length, fabirc, color, and designer.  They still had ~30 options.  I wanted to make sure they felt pretty and had a good time.  Wearing a dress you don’t feel good in can ruin an event.

    However, a true girlfriend will respect your wishes on your day.  Don’t be afriad to tell her your preference.  She may grumble a little but will more than likely comply to see one of her besties happy. :-
